We are under the understanding that the Licking County Sheriff's office will not patrol the village unless there is a contract in place. That would come with cost. 

The Ohio Revised Code does not guarantee the Sheriff’s Department will patrol a municipality. We believe that the burden of proof falls to the pro merger side to provide documentation to their claims of continued sheriff patrols.

The village was considering proposed cuts to the police department this summer according to the Reporting Project article. How can the village extend protection if this is the reality of their current situation.
